Recently I’ve dabbled in photography. Nothing specific. I just like playing with my camera and learning about ways to improve my shots. I think I’ve played with my Canon T3i for about 2.5 years now and I’m still learning so much. I think it’s due to my easily-distractable learning habits haha! I am often distracted with all these babies! Seriously, I just took three breaks between writing these 75 words. (Well worth the distraction I might add.)
Sometime in late February I was approached about doing cake smash pictures for a friend. So since I had never done these pictures, I said it would be a fun experiment. Here’s the result!
Ideally, everything would have turned out perfectly but my client wasn’t able to get her backdrop and we had to use one of my very wrinkled and imperfect white sheets. I am still learning about backgrounds and how to make fix them in the event that you have imperfections. I did my best at fixing these backgrounds but I wasn’t 100% satisfied. I think if we had started with a smooth background, these pictures wouldn’t have needed as much time invested in photoshop lol… but alas, they are done and I’ve learned a little more along the way. I’m hoping to revisit my old work someday and apply more knowledge to my shots to improve them even more! For now, I think I’m fairly happy with these images and hope my client is too! Let me know what you think… and if you have tips on how I can improve, feel free to leave those too! I’m always willing to learn. 🙂
