Delivery Week: Hacking Cough

I am scheduled for my c-section this Wednesday and I’ve been battling a nasty cough for a little over two weeks now. I’m terrified about continuing with this cough after the surgery!!! I remember all my previous recoveries and I remember being afraid to laugh due to the pain… I can’t imagine what the feeling will be when I have this nagging hacking cough at my throat! At this point, I’m so ready to post-pone surgery but I don’t know how that will fly with my OB.

Aside from my pain and suffering, I’ve also passed on this yucky cough to my babies. It makes me terribly sad to see them come down with the same thing I’m struggling with. Luckily, my two-year-old was able to kick the illness very quickly. I tackled his fever with essential oils and elderberry syrup. This combo seemed to work for him because he went from a full 24 hrs of fever to a healthy active toddler within a couple of days. I thought we were in the clear but our princess now is dealing with the mild fever and chesty cough. I can’t treat her the same since she’s still a little itty bitty one… but I’m hoping with some TLC, she will be back to her normal healthy self again. Hopefully before I go under the knife! Yikes!

So the countdown begins! I’m just a couple of days away from being on that surgery table again and the nerves are kicking in!

Send us your prayers and well wishes! Our little one’s birth story will be up soon! 🙂

I am so sorry to hear that you were sick going into a C-section. My family has been passing around strep and now the flu bug. And all my kids have the flu now too. I am thinking of you and your sweet family and hope you are on the mend.
