Now that we are homeschooling, we have made it a point to participate in a local home school co-op which allows us to join in on field trips and outings. This is a huge blessing for me because although I do come up with things to do with my boys, sometimes life gets a little hectic and I forget to plan stuff out.
This week has been a busy week for the co-op but we have really only participated in one of the outings. We got to take a tour at the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art. This tour was led by a guide who explained a lot of the displays and artifacts for our kiddos. It was quite the tour! The boys were hesitant at first to participate because they are not big on new things… they left this activity very happy though! It was great to have someone guiding them while I wrestled my two babies! Haha… Sometimes homeschooling with two under two seems impossible, but I’m glad activities like this exist. It gives my big boys a bit more than I can sometimes offer on my own.
Luckily this tour coincided with what my 4th grader has been covering in his history class! We had been talking about ancient Egypt for most of August and September… so this tied in perfectly!
If you’re local to the area, hurry and see the King Tut exhibit! It won’t be in town very much longer… it’s going to be on a journey to Mexico City in just a few more weeks.
Here are some of the pictures from that day!
My guy was not smiling from ear to ear when we started this tour… I was so glad to see this smile at the end!
