This weekend the hubby and I were fortunate enough to participate in an Adoption Event which allowed us to meet some kiddos. The event was held in the Austin area and we had a great time. I think I was probably a whole lot more terrified than Kevin seemed to be. I felt nervous and really anxious about meeting kiddos. I don’t think the that meeting the kids was the nerve wrecking aspect. Maybe it was just the overwhelming feeling of not being adequate enough for the kids that was the hard part.

Kevin is so level headed, he kept cheering me on and telling me just the right lines. He told me to think clearly and that the kids were probably feeling the exact same thing. He reminded me to think positive and hopefully by doing so, we will find ourselves as new parents again soon.

We met a couple of outstanding young ladies and we will be crossing our fingers for the best. I always think selfish and simply want them to come home but in my heart I know that I really do need to think of whether we are the best choice for the children and I’m ok waiting it out until we are the best set of parents for that one special child.

I wish I could have someone tell me the magic time line for a finding a match… I find myself waiting and longing for that match to come along… In the mean time… I’ll sit back, focus on the good all around our happy little family, and hope that the system miraculously finds us a match within the summer months! 😀
